Throughout my journey, I have found that the greatest hurdle in large-scale transformation is not the 'legacy technology,' it is the 'legacy mindset.' While we often focus on the mechanics of replatforming, migrating to the cloud, or sunsetting outdated applications, those are ultimately manageable technical debts. The real challenge—and the real opportunity—lies in organizational culture. My approach is consistently talent-first. You can have the most sophisticated infrastructure in the world, but if the organization’s mental model remains tethered to old ways of working, the technology will never reach its full potential. Transformation is, at its core, a human transition facilitated by technology, not the other way around.
In an ecosystem as vast as SIG’s, the primary challenge in aligning technology initiatives with process excellence is moving beyond the simple digitization of manual tasks. Process excellence requires deep decomposition: identifying bottlenecks and ensuring that any technological intervention is a true enabler of efficiency. We overcome this by enforcing a rigorous 'Process Change Governance' framework. This ensures that every digital shift is aligned with our Good Corporate Governance (GCG) standards and is fully documented. Before we layer on the ‘niceto-have’ innovations like AI or advanced automation, we must first justify the investment through the lens of operational value. We don't automate for the sake of technology; we automate to unlock measurable competitive advantages.

Innovation, Sustainability and Open Mindset
Fostering innovation requires democratizing access to technology. We recognize that a legacy ecosystem often stems from a legacy skillset, so we’ve focused on creating a 'Digital Hub' and enterprisewide talent programs. By introducing low-code and no-code environments, we empower employees across all departments to build their own solutions and solve their own departmental pain points. By the time we embark on a major transformation journey, our teams are already comfortable within the digital ecosystem. We aren't just handing them new tools; we are building a foundation of digital fluency that allows innovation to bubble up from the ground floor.
The culture of digital fluency being built internally also positions organizations to capitalize on the trends redefining the industry. AI and hyperautomation are undoubtedly the cornerstones of the next industrial era. In the manufacturing sector specifically, these technologies will redefine how we approach predictive maintenance and supply chain agility. However, the most significant shift will be the marriage of digitalization with sustainability. As we push toward more ambitious environmental goals, data-driven insights will be the only way to achieve the precision required to reduce our carbon footprint while simultaneously maintaining cost leadership. To the professionals who are aiming to lead in technologydriven transformation roles, primary advice is to remain relentlessly curious. The technologies we rely on today may be obsolete in five years, so a fixed technical identity is a liability; an open mindset is your greatest asset. Furthermore, as you grow into leadership, your decision-making framework must expand beyond the 'IT department.' Ensure that every path you choose satisfies three critical pillars: the Financial (is it viable?), the Economic (does it create broad value?), and the Social (what is the impact on our people and community?). If you can lead at the intersection of those three aspects, you aren't just a technology leader—you are a business architect.
